With the close of its fifth fund, Endeavor Catalyst has added $320 million to its portfolio, bringing its total assets under management to more than $850 million. This move further demonstrates the firm’s dedication to championing entrepreneurs found beyond the boundaries of Silicon Valley.
Based in New York, Endeavor began over thirty years ago as a nonprofit with the goal of supporting founders in markets commonly missed by mainstream venture capital. As many investors increasingly target AI-focused startups in California, Endeavor Catalyst remains devoted to serving ambitious companies worldwide.
Expanding Opportunities Beyond Major Tech Hubs
Under the stewardship of managing partner Allen Taylor and managing director Jackie Carmel, together with a team of 16 investors, this new fund distinguishes itself by returning half its profits to Endeavor. Linda Rottenberg, Endeavor Catalyst’s co-founder since its launch in 2012, highlighted that each successful investment creates a cycle of reinvestment to nurture future startups outside of traditional tech contexts.
Acceptance into Endeavor’s global network is highly selective; over 10,000 applicants sought entry last year, and only 88 were chosen. This network now unites more than 3,100 entrepreneurs spread across 50+ countries, providing participants with mentorship and links to an extensive collection of business leaders and investors.
Companies join Endeavor Catalyst’s portfolio if, after joining the Endeavor network, they successfully raise at least $5 million in a round led by another institutional investor. Endeavor Catalyst typically participates with investments between $1 million and $3 million, but never more than 10% of the round, always on the same terms as the lead investor.
Track Record and Future Focus
So far, Endeavor Catalyst’s five funds have deployed capital into 437 companies across 44 markets. The firm’s growing portfolio now lists 83 startups with valuations of $1 billion or higher, as well as 39 exits and 11 IPOs. Notable investments include:
- ElevenLabs, an AI voice tools startup from Poland, most recently valued at $22 billion
- Bending Spoons, an Italian conglomerate with a market capitalization of $26 billion
- Reflection AI, an AI leader based in New York with Greek origins, valued at $25 billion
- Checkout.com, steered by a Swiss founder and recognized at a $12 billion valuation in 2025
- Flutterwave, which powers payments infrastructure in Africa, holding a $3.2 billion valuation
- Replit, an AI coding platform co-founded by Amjad Masad, most recently pegged at a $9 billion valuation
The latest fund, totaling $320 million and drawing support from 400 limited partners—including Reid Hoffman, Bill Ackman, and the Netherlands-based Prosus—has plans to invest in up to 150 startups during the upcoming years. Remarkably, nearly a third of those contributing capital are Endeavor founders themselves, including individuals behind Nubank, Revolut, and Checkout.com.
Anticipating annual investments in the range of 40 to 50, the team expects about 90% of these deals will be outside the US. So far in 2026, Europe has proven to be the fastest-growing segment with 12 completed deals in just the first half of the year, whereas Latin America keeps its spot as the primary region for Endeavor’s investments.
Backing Repeat Entrepreneurs and Global Leaders
A greater emphasis has been placed on backing experienced founders; in the last fund, roughly 14% of investments went to entrepreneurs launching their second businesses at seed or Series A, with Taylor forecasting this figure will rise to 20% courtesy of the new fund’s mandate.
Endeavor’s broad influence is reflected in its high-status board, which features Reid Hoffman, seasoned partners like Nick Beim of Matrix Partners and Venrock, and Edgar Bronfman Jr., who chairs the board and previously led Warner Music and Seagram. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s ongoing relationship with Endeavor highlights the organization’s capacity to link early-stage startups with top global leadership.
Challenging the Silicon Valley Status Quo
As venture investment dollars concentrate on San Francisco’s AI wave, Endeavor Catalyst’s strategy is designed to uncover standout founders worldwide. Its on-the-ground teams and mentor networks equip Endeavor to spot and assist innovative, high-growth startups far from typical technology hotspots—proving that major tech success can, and does, originate well outside of Silicon Valley.
