Fans of management sims have a lot to look forward to, as Two Point Studios recently revealed the next big addition to Two Point Museum. The new downloadable content, titled “Rides & Relics,” builds on the game’s popular formula by allowing players to create their own theme parks, bringing classic simulation vibes into the experience.
Theme Park Elements Enrich Two Point Museum Gameplay
The Rides & Relics DLC significantly expands game mechanics, letting players design and operate interactive theme park rides. Mini-rollercoasters can now be constructed and fully customized with adjustable height, tilt, and camber alongside five distinct thematic options. More than 17 fairground-inspired exhibits are included, offering everything from candyfloss and popcorn stalls to major attractions like a teacup ride, haunted house, pirate ship, ferris wheel, and a whimsical cheese flume.
Players will encounter these new features on the Gearbox Fairground expedition map, receiving support from Funfair Experts who reveal blueprints and special perks. The expansion doesn’t stop there: a new location, Riquetti Gardens, is added as a playable museum site, complemented by a challenging five-star campaign. Beyond rides, the DLC introduces a host of themed items, fairground decorations, and new gift shop products. Staff members can entertain guests with ten different mascot costumes that can be unlocked as part of the funfair experience, further increasing visitor enjoyment.
Embracing Classic Simulation Roots
The inspiration behind this expansion stems from the legacy of its creators. Mark Webley and Gary Carr, co-founders of Two Point Studios, were key figures at Bullfrog Productions, the team that developed the iconic Theme Park management game in 1994. Their work on Two Point Museum continues to echo these roots, as seen previously with Two Point Hospital’s nods to Theme Hospital, another Bullfrog classic.
Earlier DLC for Two Point Museum introduced different themes, such as animal showcases, art exhibits, and fantasy tabletop adventures, but this update adds a new nostalgic layer for fans who enjoy both the historic Bullfrog games and newer Two Point titles. The addition of theme park gameplay is designed to capture that same classic simulation charm.
Release Timeline and Supported Platforms
Scheduled for launch on 8th October, the Rides & Relics DLC will be released for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Players can purchase it on Steam and the Epic Games Store at a price of £9.99. Additionally, a Nintendo Switch 2 version has been confirmed, though the specific release date remains “coming soon.”
With each expansion, the studio revisits beloved elements from classic simulation gaming, skillfully blending nostalgia with new content. By introducing rides, fairground attractions, and mascot fun, players are encouraged to transform their museums into lively destinations with a true theme park atmosphere.
